ROYAL WOMEN’S HOSPITAL

General Information:

The Royal Women’s Hospital is the states largest women’s public hospital and accepts public, intermediate and private patients. It is also Queensland’s largest tertiary (teaching) hospital and moved into the newly built Ned Hanlon Building in 2000.

It houses the Centre for Gynaecological Cancer, Australia’s largest gynaecological cancer treatment centre. The Centre has an international reputation for teaching and research as well as advanced clinical treatment.

As a major public hospital, the Royal Women’s Hospital has the full range of medical treatment services available.

Bus:

Brisbane City – Royal Women’s Hospital:
Bus no.340 Carseldine Express departs every ½ hour during the day from White Stop no. 24 Adelaide Street (near cnr of Albert Street)

Bus no. 370 Chermside departs every ¼ hour during the day from Red Stop no. 23 Adelaide Street (near City Hall approaching King George Square)
Train

There are two train stations near the Royal Women’s Hospital – Bowen Hills Station and Brunswick Street Station.

Parking:

There is limited 2 hour street parking in Butterfield Street and other streets surrounding the Royal Women’s Hospital. There are two multi-level covered car parks near the hospital with access via Butterfield Street or Herston Road. The Butterfield Street car park has direct access to the Royal Women’s Hospital. The average cost of all-day parking is approximately $9.00

 

Visiting Hours:

Daily from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm – 8.00 pm. From 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm is Ward Quiet Time – no visitors.
