Financial Assistance

The Society offers limited and restricted financial assistance to patients, their carers and healthcare professionals. Assistance is limited to the Society's ability to fund the ever-increasing requests for help in this area of its work; and by Federal law which restricts the funding of non-Australian citizens.

For all practical purposes, the Society must restrict all forms of direct financial assistance to residents of the State of Queensland. Non-financial assistance remains available to all.

The Gynaecological Cancer Society of Queensland offers:

bulletfinancial assistance to patient through severe hardship and distress grants
bulletfinancial assistance to healthcare professionals through grant-in-aid funding to enhance their clinical skills

Assistance for Patients and Carers

Payment may be made for expenses incurred in travel and accommodation, medical procedures and hospitalisation, rehabilitation, equipment and patient and carer welfare to assist in relieving financial distress.
  2. To undertake third party negotiations to assist with the relief of the distress, suffering and poverty of Gynaecological cancer patients and their carers.

Direct financial assistance comes in the form of a grant. Applications for financial grants must meet the application criteria, and complete the grant application form available through this site.
