Carcinoma of the fallopian tube is uncommon and accounts for only 0.3% of all cancers of the female genital tract (1). More commonly the fallopian tubes(G) are involved secondarily from other tumour(G) sites including ovary, endometrium(G), gastrointestinal tract and breast.

Cancer of the fallopian tubes(G) is very uncommon. For instance, the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer saw only five cases of cancer of the fallopian tubes in 1998.
